What does good organizational leadership entail? In order to answer this question, we must first consider what organizational leadership is. Organizational leadership is a dual-focused approach that focuses on what is best for the individuals within an organization, as well as what’s best for the organization as a whole. By concentrating on these two aspects simultaneously, a leader is more likely to be successful.

Akintayo Emmanuel employs many organizational leadership skills in his capacity as a spiritual leader. Akintayo is currently the president of Hear the Lord Ministries and the overseer of God’s Remnant Assembly GLOBAL. Throughout his career, he has come to learn exactly what it takes to lead such a large group of people. From effective communication to strong ethics, there is no one better to provide their insight into organizational leadership. He shares three core components of organizational leadership.

Effective Communication

Effective communication is key when it comes to organizational leadership, shares Akintayo Emmanuel of God’s Remnant Assembly. However, oftentimes people get caught up in which methods of communication such as emailing or phone calls to employ rather than considering what’s really important. What really matters is understanding the person you’re communicating with. Consider their values and beliefs and think of the world from their point of view. This will help you understand the person or group of people you’re communicating with, which in turn will enable you to shape your message into something that will resonate with your audience. Ultimately, the key to effective communication is the message you’re communicating.

The Ability to Lead Well

This might sound obvious, but as the overseer of God’s Remnant Assembly, Akintayo Emmanuel, asserts, the ability to lead well is a crucial aspect of organizational leadership. A true leader is able to rise above any fears or doubts they may have about leading others and lead by example because they know this is the best way they can add value to the organization.

As proclaimed in Matthew 7:12: “Do for others what you would like them to do for you. This is a summary of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.” Leaders must be strategic thinkers and have the ability to understand the overall values of the organization, as well as know how to execute those values to improve the organization. Akintayo Emmanuel claims that the most important traits of any leader are truth telling, fairness, respect for others, and promise keeping.

Akintayo Emmanuel on Strong Ethics

Lastly, organizational leadership entails strong ethics. Ethics help leaders make decisions that are best for the organization. It helps them balance issues like truth and loyalty or justice and mercy. Ultimately, having strong ethics gives leaders a different lens to approach a problem with. Although it may not immediately lead to a solution, ethics can be utilized as a guide to help find an answer to a tough situation. In reality, ethics act as a compass, helping leaders navigate between what is right and wrong, as well as between two right or wrong answers. The outcome, as always, is to make the best decision possible for the organization as a whole and the people within it.
